Living Presence: Art in the Lobby of HOMS Health & Wellness Center
| Vitico Cabrera
A mural that breathes calm and welcomes with soul.
It was an honor to bring my art into the lobby of the HOMS Health & Wellness Center — a space where well-being transcends the physical and opens itself to the aesthetic experience. In this environment designed for health and harmony, my mural becomes a silent presence, inviting pause, contemplation, and connection.
Conceived as a visual gesture of welcome, this mural aims to envelop visitors in an atmosphere of serenity. The forms, colors, and rhythm of the piece are crafted to speak to both body and spirit, opening a threshold between the sensory and the sacred — between hospital and sanctuary.
I’m deeply grateful to the HOMS team for embracing my vision, and especially to architect Dennis Lokward for his trust, sensitivity, and commitment to the transformative power of art. This collaboration has been more than an intervention; it has been a synergy — a space designed for healing, now also embraced by form and color.
Art does not cure, but it accompanies. It does not prescribe, but it transforms. And in that crossing, the aesthetic gesture finds its place — at the threshold between the ordinary and the essential.
